The gardens are located off of Day Island Road just east of the Alton <br /> Baker Park's main parking lot. Many hands are needed for the job which involves surtacing the ground with <br /> finely graded, compacted gravel and building 12 raised beds (50 square feet in size). Volunteers are <br /> <br /> welcome for part or the whole day. In addition, volunteers of all skill levels are welcome; all necessary tools, <br /> materials, and instruction will be provided. <br /> "These garden plots will, be the first accessible plots available at any of the six community gardens <br /> across the city,° says Community Gardens Manager Matt McRae.
