The gardens site is located off of Day Island Road just east of Alton <br /> Baket Park's main parking lot. Many hands are needed for the job which involves surtacing the ground with <br /> fi~eiy graded, compacted gravel and building 12 raised beds (50 square feet in size). Volunteers are <br /> welcome for part or the whole day. In addition, volunteers of all skill levels are welcome; all necessary tools, <br /> ntiateriais, and instruction will be provided. <br /> "These garden plots will be the first accessible plots available at any of the six community gardens <br /> 'cross the city," says Community Gardens Manager Matt McRae.
