The group will meet at the new Native Plant Nursery in Alton Baker Park, <br /> located off of Day island Road near the new community gardens and the dog park. These intergenerational <br /> volunteers will build raised beds, transplant seedlings, plant nectar plants for butterflies, and remove non- <br /> native vegetation from the banks of tha Willamette Riv~ar. More than 70 people have signed up to <br /> participate already. <br /> "The students and teachers have been discussing water and the environment <br /> the integrated web of <br /> life-each Sunday for weeks now and are really ready for ahands-on contribution," says Lorna Baldwin, <br /> Stream Team Coordinator. <br /> Stream Team provides the opportunity for people to do hands~on environmental work, restoring and <br /> caring for the city's waterways and natural areas.
