The event will take place at Delta Ponds just off of Goodpasture Island Road. Parking is limited; alternative transports#ion is encouraged. The fish derby is part of a larger effort to study fish and wildlife at Delta Ponds and will provide important infomlation about what species of fish sire currently living in the ponds. The students of the Service Leaming Program (SLP) of the University of Oregon are helping assess the species of plants and wildlife that live at the ponds, including turtles, frogs, salamanders, birds, and fish, as part of a major habitat and recreation enhancement project currently underway at Delta Ponds. The enhancement project is a collaborative effort between the City of Eugene, the Army Corp of Engineers, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Bureau of Land Management, and other state and local partners.
