As <br /> pert of a program to reduce strain on the city's local roads during the I-105 road closures slated for <br /> <br /> ;;layer this month, the Eugene Bicycle Coalition will introduce residents to quiet, convenient routes <br /> <br /> !around the Ferry Street Bridge area for shopping, recreation, and commuting trips by bicycle. The <br /> rides will be at a relaxed pace, and will uncover connections not available to motorists. The short, <br /> enjoyable rides will begin at 6 p.m. at the parking lot of Alton Baker Park on May 5 and May 19. <br /> Participants should bring their bicycles and helmets. The rides will be free. <br /> <br /> !The bicycle rides are part of a larger program conducted by Commuter Solutions, the Oregon <br /> <br /> ~D~p~rtment of Transportation, Lane Council of Governments, and the City of Eugene to help <br /> <br /> jallleviate traffic congestion on local roads during construction on I-105 and other local roadways <br /> <br /> ~tf7is spring and summer.
