The HAR will provide motorists with additional traffic information in time for the major closures <br /> during the I-105 Highway Improvement Project that will begin on Thursday, May 19 at 6 a.m. <br /> <br /> i The I-105 construction HAR system will transmit areal-time highway information AM radio broadcast, to <br /> '!help alert drivers to adverse road conditions that may cause delays. The radio message can be quickly <br /> updated from the ODOT dispatch center in Salem. Eugene-Springfield motorists can tune to 1660 AM <br /> pn the radio, where they would receive up-to-the-minute road conditions. <br /> '(Eventually, there will be several HAR transmitters installed in the Eugene-Springfield area to give full <br /> icoverage of the Metro area. The first transmitter is located in the I-105 area in anticipation of the major <br /> 'fork that will begin on Thursday and continue through June. <br /> This technology is already being utilized by ODOT around the state to help advise motorists of <br /> accidents, highway delays, load restrictions and surface conditions.
