<br /> I <br /> ~ ..~~I-~! .7 <br /> -~L- <br /> August 16, 2005 <br /> CONTACT: Mike Spangler, Street Surface Lead, 682-4800 <br /> Tony Jobanek, Surface Operations Supervisor, 682-4835 <br /> From Public Information Section, 682-5523 or 954-2938 <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> Eugene Public Works Maintenance Crews Busy with Street Repair Work <br /> Eugene Public Works Maintenance crews will be repairing city streets at a number of <br /> locations as warm, dry summer weather continues. <br /> Starting Monday, August 22, crews will be repairing failed concrete panels on 19tH <br /> Avenue from High to Mill streets. All eastbound traffic on 19th Avenue will be detoured at High <br /> Street. Westbound traffic will not be affected. The closure is scheduled be in effect through <br /> August 30. <br /> Starting August 24, crews will be repairing multiple street failures on 13th Avenue <br /> between Jefferson and Patterson streets. Traffic on the one-way eastbound street will be shut <br /> down to one lane at times. There will be no street closure but commuters should expect traffic <br /> delays. Repairs should be completed by September 2. <br /> <br /> i <br /> Crack sealing is also scheduled the week of August 22 in the vicinity of Donald Street in <br /> <br /> i <br /> south Eugene. The section of Donald Street between 32"d and 36th avenues is scheduled to be <br /> <br /> i <br /> <br /> j done first, followed by crack-sealing repairs on 33`d Avenue between Donald and Hilyard <br /> <br /> I <br /> streets. The crew will be using flaggers, so commuters should expect traffic delays. <br /> Concrete repairs, localized asphalt repairs, and crack sealing are done by the Public <br /> <br /> i <br /> <br /> j Works Maintenance Division to address safety problems, keep water from eroding the road <br /> base, and generally extend the life of streets.
