Leaves placed in the street too

~ early beco a compacted, increase the potential for flooding by plugging storm drains, and cause
safety probl ms by blocking bike lanes and onstreet parting areas.
Res dents are encouraged to take advantage of the nutrient-rich leaves for garden compost,
or for use i landscaped areas around their homes. Extra leaves can also be placed in yard debris

j containers r disposed of through a commercial recycler such as Rexius, Lane Forest Products or
GREENCO

I
The week prior to leaf pickup, residents are asked to pile leaves in the street at least 15 feet

, ~ away from arked cars so staff can easily pick them up. Place leaves at least a foot from the curb to
avoid clogg ng storm drains. Leaf piles must not block bike or traffic lanes.
