The exercise is being conducted for training purposes and to test the effectiveness <br /> of Aircraft R scue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) response utilizing newly acquired equipment and <br /> operating wit in the new airfield configuration at the airport. The scenario being utilized is that of an <br /> airplane cras and fire. Lane County Public Health, McKenzie Willamette Medical Center and Peace <br /> Health Hospi al will also be conducting associated practice drills using an alternate scenario which <br /> includes a c emical exposure. <br /> If me tiers of the media receive citizen reports or hear communications about activities <br /> related to thi exercise, it is important to be aware that they are a part of an exercise, not a real event. <br /> Ther are no accommodations arranged for media coverage during the exercise; however, <br /> Chuck Solin, Emergency Manager, or Bob Noble, Airport Manager, may be available for comment at <br /> the conclusi n of the exercise at 12:30 p.m. at the Eugene Airport, if requested in advance.
