As 8 a.m. today, portions of the millrace near the University of Oregon were over capacity, c using isolated flooding. Public Works crews are monitoring flooding conditions and j managing t e flow in the millrace using gate valves. ~ Am zon Creek was near capacity. Flooding was reported at 19~h Avenue and Orchard Street, and nderpasses on the Fern Ridge Path have standing water in them. Cyclists and pedestrians are advised to use alternate routes to avoid the undercrossings until the rain subsides. I s The illamette River also is full, and some portions of the Ruth Bascom Riverbank Trail System hav standing water on them. Again, cyclists are advised to use caution and consider ~ alternate ro tes while the river is high. i i Publ c Works leaf collection crews are on schedule to finish pickups in southwest ~ Eugene thi week. Most of the leaves in town have been picked up already, which has i ~ alleviated s me of the localized flooding that occurs early in the season when leaves plug up catch basin . Thr e Public Works street crews are out doing emergency pothole repairs, and more potholes ar expected to surface as a result of the current rainstorm.
