LTD and the City of Eugene have been <br /> working c operatively since last summer to ready streets and intersections for EmX <br /> <br /> ri service, s heduled to begin in late 2006. LTD paid the full cost of installing the signal, <br /> which incl des functions for pedestrian crossings and vehicle-activated signal timing. <br /> Th signal at 11th Avenue and Mill Street is Eugene's 226th traffic signal. In late <br /> Novembe 2005, a new signal was activated at 10th Avenue and High Street to allow the <br /> conversio of 10th Avenue to two-way traffic and also to accommodate future EmX <br /> service. <br /> Wo is currently under way on a private contract to install the city's 227th signal <br /> on Cobur Road midway between Oakway Road and Oakmont Way.
