Last <br /> year, more than 2 0 community members participated in the program and grew everything from tomatoes and <br /> peppers to herbs nd cut flowers. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, at the Parks and Open <br /> Sjpace Division o ce at 1820 Roosevelt Boulevard. Registration will continue during regular business hours <br /> IWonday through ridgy from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m, until plots are filled. <br /> l~he City of Eugen has six community gardens at the following locations: <br /> Amazon arden at 27th Avenue and High Street . <br /> I <br /> Mathews arden at 15th Avenue and Hayes Street <br /> i <br /> Whiteoke Garden at the end of North Polk Street <br /> ~ River Hou a Garden at 301 North Adams Street <br /> i <br /> Alton Bak r Gardens on Day Island Road in Alton Baker Park <br /> i Skinner ity Farm at the west end of Skinner Butte Park (north end of Washington Street) <br /> r <br /> ast year, garden rs began enjoying new amenities such as wheelchair-accessible plots at Alton Baker and larger <br /> rganizotional pl is at Skinner City Farm. Rent is $60 per year for a plot approximately 500 square feet in size. It <br /> ncludes access t tools, water, and a garden site manager. Eugene's Community Gardens Program has been <br /> ffering residents the opportunity to cultivate a plot of land since i 978.
