This free festival offers children to opportunity to see a wide <br /> `v riety of award w nning nature-related short films from around the world. The films range from live <br /> a tion films shot i Africa, to the 2005 Academy Award nominee for best animated short. Many of the <br /> fi s came highly ecommended by both the New York and l,os Angeles. Children's Film Festivals. Two <br /> o the films were c Bated by local Eugene filmmakers who will be on hoed following the screening to <br /> d scuss the makin of their films- The festival is being kicked off by Mayor Kitty Piercy and is followed by <br /> a informational r ception with "giant critters," and information about outdoor activities taking place in <br /> o r community. R ception participants include REI's PEAK outdoor program, Pacific Tree Climbing <br /> I stitute, Nearby ature, Mt. Pisgah Summer Camp, and the City of Eugene Recreation Division. Doors <br /> o en at 1:30 and a screening runs approximately 70 minutes. The festival is being generously <br /> s onsored by Dr, ray Grieve Orthodontics and the Pacific Tree Climbing Institute- <br /> B th Eugene film akers are available for interviews. The City of Eugene Parks and Open Space <br /> ivision is hosting this first festival in celebration of the 100' Anniversary of Eugene Parks.
