Responsibility for the inspection, permit review and <br /> I Cates for the onstruction-related activities of licensees, franchised utilities and EWEB <br /> ithin the Publi Way has been delegated by the City Engineer to the Utility Inspector. <br /> I general, the rimary function of the Utility Inspector is to see that construction work <br /> rformed withi the public way is performed in the best interest of the City of Eugene and <br /> t e general pu lic. When work is not being performed in a manner acceptable under the <br /> unicipal Cod or adopted rules and standards, the Inspector will so inform the permitee's <br /> r presentative n charge and require the necessary corrections be made. <br /> he Utility Insp ctor shall maintain accurate records of the number of inspections each <br /> onth, locates erformed, requests for locates, right-of-way cut permits issued and <br /> i cidents of da age to City facilities. Licensees, franchised utilities and EWEB submit <br /> eekly reports fall right-of-way cuts made by their staff or contractors and these records <br /> re used by th Utility Inspector to submit statistics to the LUCC and OUCC to assist in <br /> t acking utility oordination trends state-wide. <br /> .D.2 Authori <br /> l~he Utility Insp ctor has the authority to order changes in construction technique or issue <br /> "stop work" ord rs for non-compliance with the permit conditions or Standard Specifics- <br /> , tons, as refere ced later here-in, if hazardous or improper methods are used.
