I <br /> anticipate the Not ce will be posted on or around June 13, 2007. <br /> i <br /> ~i <br /> ack ound <br /> ost residential subdivisions and commercial developments in the Eugene area are built by private <br /> developers. Th se developments typically include public streets, wastewater facilities, storm drainage <br /> acilities, and oth r improvements that are privately engineered and constructed. The new improvements are <br /> i spected and acc pted by the City of Eugene and are maintained by the City's Public Works Department. <br /> ~he City charges a private developer the cost of reviewing plans, testing, inspecting construction, reviewing <br /> ~ -construct draw ngs and performing 11-month warranty inspections. In accordance with City Code Section <br /> 'x.130(1), fees fo these services recover the City's full costs, including overhead. Developers are provided <br /> engineering cost ' formation before they sign any contract that requests City design or inspection services on <br /> privately constru ed projects. <br /> I <br /> ~ Y08 Rates <br /> he City's FY08 engineering rates for services to privately engineered public improvements are 3% higher <br /> han FY07 rates. The FY08 rate model is based on the FY08 proposed budget and a projection for total <br /> ~llable hours tha is based on current trend. <br /> ext Ste s <br /> he Notice provi es fora 15-day comment period. At the end of that time, the City Manager will review <br /> omments and p epare a final order setting the fees which will include consideration and response to any <br /> ublic comments.
