The intersectio of 43`d and Fox Hollow is scheduled to be closed for approximately 14 days tentatively cheduled to begin in mid-July. All streets within the project area will be cleared of constructi n equipment and the full street width will be opened for the Butte to Butte Race on July 4. Th project is scheduled to be completed by late August. Wil ish Construction has been awarded a $1 million contract to do the work. Project funding is oming from stormwater system development charges, stormwater user fees, and local gas t x revenues. ~i Ot r Pavement Preservation Pro'ects Ina dition to the major road repair projects scheduled to begin June 19, the City of Eugene ha an acfive summer street maintenance program and additional overlay and slurry seal projec scheduled to start later this summer. ~I Thi week, crews from Public Works Maintenance this week began crack sealing more than 20 mil s of city streets. A hot tar material is poured into cracks to seal the surface and prevent wat r from seeping through the asphalt and eroding the subsurface. Streets typically remain ope while crack sealing takes place, but motorists and cyclists should anticipate lane detours and occasional brief delays. Stre is scheduled for overlays later this summer include Arthur and Garfield streets (11tH i, to 18tH aven es), 40tH Avenue (Donald to Willamette streets), 43`d Avenue (Fox Hollow to Donald), Do ald Street (40tH to 46~'), Patterson Street (East Broadway to 13tH Avenue), Seneca ~ Road (7~' to 11tH avenues), and Washington Street (6tH to Stn avenues). Slurry sealing, in which ICI an emulsifie asphalt mixture is spread over the street to seal the surface, will be done on various resi ential streets in the vicinity of 18tH Avenue and Bailey Hill Road, in the area near Willakenzie nd Debrick roads, and in the Terry Street area.
