The new signal will replace amid-block <br /> ~I, pedestrian ignal located a half block to the south. <br /> The elocated signal will provide improved access to Amazon Park, Amazon Pool, and <br /> i <br /> ~I~ Hilyard Co munity Center. The new path connecting the Amazon Pool area with the Amazon <br /> III Multi-use P th is in line with the new signal location and will provide a direct route for neighbors <br /> III, east of Hily rd Street to access the multi-use path and other park amenities. A dedicated <br /> northbound left turn lane will help accommodate higher traffic demand in the summer and fall <br /> when the p of use is high. <br /> Add Tonal design features include construction of new sidewalk access ramps at all four <br /> corners oft a intersection, separations of the southbound bus and right-turning movements, <br /> li, and audible pedestrian signals to assist people with visual impairments. The northbound bus <br /> ~,'I stop on Hil rd Street near the mid-block crossing will move to just north of the 26`h and Hilyard <br /> intersection to provide more convenient bus access. Nine parking spaces on the east side of <br /> Hilyard wer removed to accommodate the improved design. <br /> ~'~I Eug ne Public Works staff worked with closely with neighbors on the signal relocation <br /> II, project, whi h resulted from public input during the Amazon Park Master Planning process. <br /> II Cherry City Electric was the project contractor.
