His session is designed to help foster asafety-oriented attitude for all users <br /> of the road ay. <br /> Th mas is a practicing attorney and has a doctorate from Lewis and Clark Law School. <br /> He is the a thor of People Power- a Legal Guide for Oregon Bicyclists and has written many <br /> articles reg rding bicycle related laws and safety. Thomas regularly commutes by bicycle and <br /> <br /> ~~I leads noon ime rides in the Portland area. <br /> Th mas will provide information about Oregon laws related to the rights and <br /> responsibil ties of bicyclists and motorists, including riding on the roadway and sidewalks, obeying <br /> traffic sign ,and yielding to pedestrians. He will also inform bicyclists about how to deal with <br /> insurance ompanies and the courts if involved in a collision. He will provide free copies of <br /> People Po er to those attending the safety and education sessions. <br /> Thi talk is part of July-in-Motion, the City's month long walking and biking promotion.
