<br /> g, <br /> July 11, 200 <br /> CONTACT: Matt Rodrigues, Project Manager, 541-682-6036 <br /> From Public Information Section, 682-5523 or 954-2938 <br /> FOR IMME IATE RELEASE <br /> ashington, Garfield and Seneca Streets Scheduled for Paving Repairs <br /> Sum er pavement preservation work continues in Eugene, with construction slated to <br /> start Saturd y, July 15, on Washington Street between Sixth and Eighth avenues and work <br /> coming up I ter this month on two other streets. <br /> The ork on Washington Street will include reconstructing the intersection of Washington <br /> and Eighth venue and repaving Washington Street between Sixth and Eighth avenues. <br /> Reconstruct on of the intersection of Washington Street and Eighth Avenue will be done on two <br /> consecutive Saturdays, July 15 and July 22, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. On those dates, traffic on <br /> Washington Street will be limited to one lane, and Eighth Avenue will be closed to through traffic. <br /> The work wi I not substantially affect traffic on Sixth and Seventh avenues. <br /> Pavi g work on Garfield Street between 11th and 13th avenues will also be done on two <br /> consecutive Saturdays, July 22 and July 29. On those dates, traffic on Garfield will be limited to <br /> one lane, a d 12th Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Garfield and Arthur streets will also be <br /> repaved be een 13th and 18th avenues. That work will be done during regular daytime <br /> constructio hours and not limited to Saturdays. <br /> Pavi g work is also scheduled to start July 24 on Seneca Road between Seventh and 11th <br /> avenues. T at work will be done during regular daytime hours, and at least one lane will remain <br /> open at all t mes. <br /> All three pr jects are being done by Wildish Construction under contract to the Eugene Public <br /> Works Dep rtment. The projects are part of Eugene's 2006 pavement preservation program, <br /> which also i eludes repairs to Hilyard Street and numerous other city streets.
