Children will spend the evening <br /> orking with a ocal ortist to create tiles depicting nature scenes that will then be embedded <br /> in the park's n sidewalk. For years, Brewer Park neighbors have held a summer BBQ to <br /> watch their kid play, get to know each other, and come together as a community. This year's <br /> BBQ coincides with the community's celebration of the completion of renovations at park. <br /> New park feat res include v picnic area, landscaping, and new park furniture. The art project <br /> (will put the fini ping touches on the park's new look. <br /> Brewer Park n ighbors have been inclose contact with the City of Eugene's architects and <br /> provided input and guidance especially with regard to art in the pork. "We want the park to <br /> be a place wh re anyone can came to connect and ploy and feel welcome, said neighbor <br /> Rebecca Man heimer. "We know chat art is an integral component to make our vision come <br /> to life." <br /> To chat end, k ds from the neighborhood will be working with renowned Fugene artist Betsy <br /> Wolfston to cr ate art in the park. Over 35 children will have a file on which to create nature <br /> scenes utilizin special paints. Betsy will guide the project and help the artists creote their <br /> masterpieces. Betsy will fire the tiles ;n her shop and have them ready for installation in the <br /> park sidewalk later this summer. <br /> The art will se a as a lasting symbol of the creativity, vibrancy, and joy that parks, children, <br /> families, and arbecues bring to neighborhoods. <br /> <br /> ~IRr?. <br /> <br />
