September 9, 2006 <br /> CONTACT: David Roth, Transportation Planning Technician, 682-5727 <br /> From Public Information Section, 682-5523 or 954-2938 <br /> FOR IMME IATE RELEASE <br /> Oc ober 5 Open House Focuses on Crest Drive Context Sensitive Solutions <br /> Community members interested in the Crest Drive context sensitive solutions process will <br /> have the op ortunity to learn more and provide input at an open house slated for Thursday, <br /> October 5. he event will be held at Crest Drive Elementary School, 1155 Crest Drive, from 4 to 8 <br /> p.m. Neigh orhood residents and community members are encouraged to drop in and participate <br /> as their sch Jules allow. <br /> Con ext sensitive solutions (CSS) is a collaborative project development approach <br /> involving all stakeholders to develop a transportation facility that fits into its physical surroundings <br /> while maint fining safety and mobility for all users and reflecting community needs. <br /> The open house will be hosted by the Crest Drive Community Team (CDCT), a committee <br /> comprised f neighborhood residents and City staff. Members of the CDCT will be on hand to <br /> solicit the p blic's feedback and collect ideas for input on the CSS process. <br /> Sev n interactive stations will be set up at the open house including: CDCT history and <br /> backgroun ; placemaking; walkabout; engineering 101; CDCT work plan; context sensitive <br /> solutions; a dhow to get involved. Attendees will be actively engaged in learning about the CSS <br /> process an will be encouraged to provide input.
