On unday and Monday nights the two right-hand northbound lanes will be closed from approximat ly 7:30 p.m. until around 6 a.m. Tuesday night the left-hand northbound turn lanes will be closed. ednesday night both southbound lanes will be closed, and southbound traffic will be detoured o to Southwood Lane at the Oakway intersection to bypass the construction. All I nes will be open during the daytime but motorists should expect some bumps in the constructio area until final paving is completed. Weather permitting, the entire project is anticipated o take about a week to complete. Wil ish Construction is the general contractor on the project, which will require excavating a three-foo -deep trench across the full width of Coburg Road. A broken pipe that was the major cause of th slumping will be replaced, and two layers of a geotechnical material called "geogrid" will placed o strengthen the road base and effectively span the silty material in a former stream channel un er the road bed. The remnants of an old bridge at that location are generally below the planne excavation depth and are expected to be left in place. Tot I cost of the project is estimated at approximately $167,000, with about 40% coming from local tormwater funds and the rest from the City's road fund.
