i
i
_
~ September ~7, 2007
CONTACT: Jack Long, AIC Director, Parks and Open Space Division, 682-4895
From Public Information Section, 682-5523 or 954-2938
FOR IMMEgIATE RELEASE
Traffic Advisory
Section of Day Island Road to Be Closed for ESPN Television Equipment
Cyclists in Alton Baker in the vicinity of Autzen Stadium will not be able to use a section of
Day Island toad for several days due to equipment being parked on the roadway by a national
sports network.
~ The City of Eugene has closed Day Island Road east of the stadium from Thursday
through Saturday so ESPN cart set up trucks and broadcast equipment to televise Saturday's
"Game Day" football show.
Cyclists will be able to travel through the area by using the riverbank trail (see map below).
Signs and barricades are being erected to indicate the closed section of roadway and direct
i cyclists to open routes. The old roadway is closed to motor vehicles in that area, so most traffic
j will not be affected by the closure. Walking and running trails will remain open, and walkers and
joggers should be alert to increased traffic.
In the map below, the yellow shaded area indicates the closed roadway.
CEtltlT~NNIAL
L() AdA€i1~H LU7lE~ lCit~~ ,~1. .1+Y1.
~ ~ ~~ti
ii Lt
L

I I r~~:
BrCsr
~ri~r
a,
~ I"~.~:~,m. ~A~
i
Eugene Public Works • www.eugene-or.gov/pw
858 Pearl Street, Eugene, Oregon 97501 •541-682-5523 • fax 541-682-6826 • e-mail pwadmin@ci.eugene.or.us
