Fifty-eight new trees have been planted over the <br /> ~ Ipst two years. Twenty-eight large-growing species (autumn purple ash, autumn blaze maple, bigleaf maple, burr <br /> oak, London plane, and catalpa) will be installed in the right-of-way Saturday. At the end of this multi-phased <br /> project next year, over 100 trees will be in place that will eventually provide a canopy over the street. The tree <br /> II planting project will shade and beautify the area, calm and slow traffic, and provide many other environmental <br /> ~ kenefits to a busy Eugene street that is an important link to Springfield. <br /> Volunteers should meet near Vincent Street and Harlow Road. Tools, gloves, safety gear, and <br /> rj~freshments will be provided.
