The tree species to be planted <br /> '~,in lude Oregon white oak, flowering ash, Douglas fir and flame maple. <br /> The tree planting project is funded through one of 14 Neighborhood Matching Grants approved by <br /> <br /> _'Ith Eugene City council to encourage people to collaboratively identify and actively participate in ways to <br /> m ke their neighborhoods better. Willakenzie Action Junior Grange was awarded two grants for work in the <br /> ~'ip rk: planting trees, and installing artistic tiles recognizing the historical elements of the farming heritage in <br /> ''pith sidewalk surrpunding the playground. <br /> Tools, glo~res, safety gear, and refreshments will be provided at the tree-planting event. The <br /> N ighborWoods program works with local businesses, school groups, community groups, and neighbors to <br /> b ild Eugene's urban forest and improve water quality by planting trees on public property.
