1 <br /> ~W <br /> y4. ~ N <br /> '~~~,THE SCHOOL FOR ~2ANAGING & L <br /> EADING CHANGE <br /> The Curriculum <br /> ie School is made up of learning modules, joined together in a series of two and three day <br /> ~rkshops. The workshops occur 4-6 weeks apart. <br /> odule 1: Building a Learning Community. The purpose of the first session is to build teams, begin the <br /> ~logue about purpose, and establish the foundation for a learning community. <br /> I', odule 2: Freedom, Choice and Accountability. This workshop focuses on the tension between <br /> :erdependence and autonomy_ Serious rethinking begins with the individual facing their own wish for safety <br /> d their own willingness to co-determine an organization.that they believe in and that works. <br /> odule 3: Self-Organizing Systems. Chaos theory and systems theory create fundamental shifts in our <br /> <br /> ~ Inking about how to organize living systems_ Taking this view toward systems and individuals changes the <br /> iy we design and run organizations and communities. <br /> odule 4: Building a Strategy for Change. Successful change efforts begin by bringing stakeholders ; . <br /> gether. There are certain first steps that need to be leader-directed and other phases that need to be self- <br /> ganizing and participative. 1 <br /> :odule 5: Social Architecture. Designing New Forms to Fit New Purposes. There is a need to rethink <br /> vcture, practice and decision making. The task is to align management practices and infrastructure with new <br /> :mands for service, quality and speed. <br /> ~~odule 6: Innovative Ways to Convene: Change depends on our ability to convene many others at their <br /> arkplace to co-create new and more meaningful ways of working. These group skills are part of <br /> anaging/leading and they constitute skills of convening and engagement. <br /> ;odule 7: Applications Clinic_ This session is to focus primarily on the workplace or community project. <br /> aticipants will consult with each other. They will review their own accountabilities to their sponsoring <br /> ganization and continue to focus on the basic principles of the School. <br /> :odule S: Linking Organization to Community_ The School is designed for teams to do more than build <br /> eir own capacity.
