Cleanup Program (VCP) has <br />evaluated SCiENTECH's summary of several environmental investigations performed tQ date at the <br />Chiquita Processed Foods LLC property in Eugene. ~ '... <br />Attached for your recorc:s is a copy of DEQ's Site Summary Report; inciridina the results made <br />available to DEQ'for past environmental investi~ations'ofthe Chiquita property, and DEQ's <br />recommendations concerning the site. DEQ's evaluation included hazardous substances in shallow <br />sail anal Groundwater underlying tax lots 700 and .1100 of the 700 Block of Ferry Street. Szdiments <br />and water contained in two wastewater sumps on the property were also evaluated. DEQ's evaluation <br />specifically excludes consideration of adjacent ta.Y lot X00, currently occupied'by Auto Craft Inc. <br />DEQ concludes that no further action is required for environmental investiGation.or cleanup of the <br />Chiquita property, identified as ta_x lots i00 grid I I00 of the 700-Block of Ferry- Street in Eugene. <br />This conclusion is consistent with Oregon Environmental Cleanup Law: ORS 465.?00 et sea., unless <br />additiotlal information becomes available justifying further investi~atioli. <br />DEQ appreciates tour participation in our Voluntary Cleanup Pro~am, including your responsive and <br />thorough documentation of environmental conditions at the Chiquita property.
