These included
presentations on green building technologies and code issues by David Eisenberg, director of the
Development Center for Appropriate Technology (DCAT), Tucson, Arizona; sustainable development
basics by Dennis Wilde, senior project manager with Gerding/Edlen Development,Portland; and green
building product information for suppliers and builders. Co-sponsors included the Northwest
EcoBuilding Guild, EWEB, Eugene Chamber of Commerce, Home Builders Association, University of
Oregon Program in Watershed & Community Health, and City of Springfield.
i
j
The City has a number of efforts underway to continue to work towards sustainable practices within the
organization. The Environmental Policy will continue to guide the work of the Environmental Policy Team
and the other environmentally focused task teams as they continue in their work to reduce negative
environmental impacts in city activities and set an example for the community at large.
