As you know, we amended the grant once already, in order to
manage delays in funding from our project partner, the Army Corp of
Engineers.
Parks and Open Further project complications have arisen which impact our completion date
Space Planning for a couple of the proposed improvements, An additional wetland fill permit
Parks Maintenance requirement will postpone construction of the boardwalk and overlook until
2006. Additionally, the development of an interpretive program for Delta
Urban Forestry Ponds is taking longer than expected and we are not yet ready to produce
Wetlands and Open signage.

Waterways .
We therefore, request another amendment, to remove the overlook and
signage from the amended agreement. I want to assure you however, that the
City of Eugene is committed to seeing these project components completed.
We have earmarked existing funding for construction of the boardwalk and
overlook, as well as interpretive signage. These improvements are scheduled
for construction in 2006.
By agreeing to this additional amendment, our vision for recreation
improvements at Delta Ponds remains whole, and the realization of that vision
is assured. The City of Eugene is grateful to State Parks, both for the grant
dollars and for the flexibility in modifying the project scope to allow us to
complete these important park amenities.
