update schedule for the district formation process this fall will also be discussed at that

time.
METRO CONSIDERATION

The possibility of connecting a Coburg wastewater collection system to the system
serving Eugene and Springfield (the Metropolitan Wastewater Management
Commission, MWMC) has been a continuing question for Coburg. Previous reviews of

this possibility have determined that, for one reason or the other, it was not practical. As

the cost of Coburg's own system changes, the MWMC option deserves to be re-
examined closely. The question has recently been asked again by decision makers
grappling with MWMC's own expansion needs and impacts to rate payers.
State funding has been offered for a more detailed study of the MWMC option. It
appears there is support among the governing bodies of MWMC for completing the

study. In the mean time the project team will continue to work toward completing
Coburg's independent treatment system while keeping the MWMC option open.
City of Coburg Sewer Status Report Page 5 of 5 7/1/2004
_ _
