Eugene City Council Retreat <br /> February 25-26, 2005 <br /> Retreat Goals <br /> • To improve the effectiveness of the governing body <br /> • To build a working relationship between members of the governing body and the <br /> City's Executive staff <br /> • To identify important goals and strategies for the City of Eugene to accomplish in <br /> the ensuing two years <br /> Vision and Goal Statements <br /> Vision and Goals <br /> The Council considered the existing Vision Statement and Council Goals and reflected <br /> on how they could/should be changed. The Council and Executive Staff also assessed <br /> what the City is doing well with regard to each Goal and what could be better. <br /> Existing Vision Statement <br /> Eugene is a regional center for education, culture and commerce, and a comfortable <br /> attractive and affordable place to live and work. We value the variety of our safe, livable <br /> neighborhoods and the beauty of our landscapes. We respect the perspectives and <br /> lifestyles of our active and diverse citizenry.
