Glenn KLEIN -Beverly/Green: Estimated Cost of Geo-technical analysis/ Attorney-
Client Confidential Communication
_ _ ~ _ ~ s
From: Jeffery J MATTHEWS

To: COREY Kurt A; MEDLIN Johnny R; NYSTROM Steven A
Date: 10/18/2007 8:11 AM
Subject: Beverly/Green: Estimated Cost of Geo-technical analysis/ Attorney-Client Confidential
Communication
CC: KLEIN, Glenn; SCHMIDT, Jens
Attachments: SCN_20071018075218.pdf; Work Plan and Traffic Control.pdf
Attached are spreadsheets from Foundation Engineering with estimates for the recommended soil core borings
and geo-technical analysis. Foundation Engineering estimates that the geo-technical work, including borings,
will cost
$35,000 for Green and $20,000 for Beverly. Also, for your information, attached is a copy of Foundation
Engineering's letter to Quentin Blattler with the proposed boring work plan.
If we do inclinometer testing in the three Green and one Beverly soil boring holes, it is estimated to cost an
additional $9,400 and $3,400 respectively. The inclinometer testing is testing for soil movement over an
extended period of time. While this information is probably not that useful for the appraisal, given the time
frame in which we are trying to get the appraisal to the City Council, the information may be of use to the City
in evaluating proposed uses of the property in this area by others.
I do not have enough experience in this area to even hazard a guess as to whether Foundation Engineering's
estimates are reasonable. Any thoughts?
The current schedule is to get the soil boring equipment to the boring site during the week of October 29th.
If you print the attached cost estimates, please also print the e-mail and keep the e-mail and cost estimates
together and confidential, as this communication is protected from disclosure by the attorney-client privilege
and is not subject to disclosure in response to a Public Records Request.
Thanks,
Jeff
Jeffery J.
