Two beautiful new benches made by Nosiglia are being <br /> i stalled this we k at the park. The benches were sculpted from a large Western red cedar which <br /> ied in Washb e Park several years ago. Bench parts were milled from the large log and <br /> s~ulpted in a low relief to bring out a landscape of trees on the bench backs and fern fronds on <br /> <br /> t ~ e bench sides. he new bench that Nosiglia will carve Saturday also uses log sections from the <br /> ld cedar tree an will take the form of a salmon. <br /> The work party is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The work involves <br /> r moving and cu ing back invasive, non-native plants such as laurel, ivy and blackberry to improve <br /> isibility and saf ty. Volunteers should bring a lunch and gloves; soft drinks and water will be <br /> ovided. Meet t the rock wall entrance on Agate Street between 19th and 21st avenues. <br /> The next ashburne Park work party is scheduled for October 16 and will include lots of <br /> w plantings in he shrub and flower bed along Agate Street.
