The City's Urban Forestry program has similar <br /> goals, includin NeighborWoods, a volunteer tree planting program established in 1992. <br /> i <br /> Dennis Lueck of the Eugene Tree Foundation has been working with City Urban Forestry <br /> i <br /> staff for severa months in preparation for Saturday's planting. The first steps included <br /> designing a tre planting plan that will include silver linden, London plane, southern catalpa, big <br /> I <br /> leaf maple and white ash trees. Next, the business owners in the area of 11 `h Avenue between <br /> Pearl and High streets were contacted. <br /> Public orks crews then cut the sidewalk to make planter areas, and, after removing the <br /> concrete, had ark and loam brought in to prepare each space for tree planting.
