A pub is meeting to review plans for future uses of West Alton Baker Park will be held <br /> Wednesday, J uary 29, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Building 2 large conference room at the <br /> i <br /> Eugene Publi Works Maintenance Facility, 1820 Roosevelt Boulevard. <br /> ! <br /> This i the second in a series of meetings held by the City of Eugene on a long-range <br /> I <br /> development lan for the 142-acre portion of the park west of Autzen Stadium. The City's parks <br /> i <br /> planners hop to complete the plan later this spring. Aside from funds from an anonymous donor <br /> to start a tree azden, no funding has been identified to construct new park features. <br /> ~ Based on comments received from the public since the first meeting in May 1996, the <br /> plan has been revised to provide more pedestrian paths, picnic areas, and restrooms. Short-and <br /> long-term sit s have been identified for a park nature center and a park maintenance yard, and <br /> future locatio shave been selected for the City's "River House" facility and a new boat landing <br /> i <br /> ! on the Will ette River. The design of Day Island Road has been shortened to end in additional <br /> i <br /> j pazking Bout est of the Cuthbert Amphitheater. Areas have been designated for festivals and <br /> I <br /> special event ,small group performers, a tree garden, and a children's playground.
