1 <br /> pri19, 1997 <br /> CONTACT: Louie Kroeck, Project Manager, 682-2692 <br /> From Public I formation Section, 682-5523 <br /> FOR IMME IATE RELEASE <br /> ICI P AND RIDE WORK REQUIRES AMAZON PARKWAY CLOSURE <br /> li Work n the first phase of a new Amazon park and ride facility is scheduled to begin Friday, <br /> ~ April 11, wea er permitting, and detours and delays will be likely in the area of 29th Avenue and <br /> Amazon Par ay during the first several days of construction. <br /> i, Begin ing April 11 and continuing through April 15, Wildish Construction will extend the <br /> wastewater co lection lines in 29th Avenue across Amazon Parkway to serve a restroom Lane <br /> Transit Distric (LTD) is building for its drivers and to accommodate a future public restroom at the <br /> I park-and-ride ite. Flaggers will direct traffic on 29th Avenue on Friday and Monday, and motorists <br /> I <br /> ~'~I may encounte brief delays in that area during daytime construction hours. <br /> I <br /> On Tu sday, April 15, Amazon Parkway is scheduled to be closed all day between 29th and <br /> 27th avenues. Hilyard Avenue and Willamette Street are recommended alternative routes between <br /> 30th and 24th venues. Traffic should be back to normal by April 16. <br /> Most o the park-and-ride lot work will occur later this summer. Approximately 40 parking <br /> spaces will be nstalled for park-and-ride commuters and Amazon Park users on the east side of the <br /> LTD transfers tion at 29th and Amazon Parkway.
