I//~~~I//////`~~/ <br /> Public Works <br /> May 6, 1996 Administration <br /> City of Eugene <br /> 858 Pearl Street <br /> Eugene, OR 97401 <br /> CONTACT: Ruth Koenig, Eugene Stream Team, 465-2814 (503) 687-5262 <br /> From Public Information Section, 465-2739 <br /> WILLOW CREEK WETLANDS BIRD WALK SATURDAY <br /> Experience spring's diverse wetland birdlife with a guided tour of the Willow Creek <br /> wetlands on Saturday, May 11, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Following the bird walk, led by Roy <br /> Titus, The Nature Conservancy is coordinating a work party at the site beginning at 9:30 a.m. <br /> Participants interested in either event should meet at the turnout on the north side of 18th <br /> Avenue, one quarter mile west of Bertelsen Road. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. <br /> Work party participants should bring gloves and pruning clippers if available. <br /> The bird walk is an educational activity sponsored by the Eugene Stream Team, a <br /> program that brings volunteers together to enhance local water quality and flood control and <br /> protect natural resources of streams, ponds and wetlands. The program is funded through <br /> stormwater user fees and is part of the City's Stormwater Management Program within the <br /> Public Works Department. <br /> For more information, or a complete listing of spring 1996 events, call the Eugene Stream <br /> <br /> Team at 465-2814. <br /> <br />
