The sign, on loan from the Oregon State Police, uses a built~in radar <br /> system and ~olaz powered batteries to display the speed of oncoming motorists. <br /> The fiign will be available to. the City of Eugene for use August S - 9. A different location : <br /> f <br /> has been ch ~ sen each day by the City's Neighborhood Transportation Program which focuses, in <br /> part, on ed'u tional efforts to supplement enforcement methods. <br /> Na Duke, Neighborhood Transportation Planner, says "speeding has always been a <br /> problem in oval neighborhoods and we hope the radar sign will give motorists a realistic view of <br /> just how fat they're going." <br /> i <br /> i <br /> The CCity is considering purchasing its own radar sign for ongoing use at a cost o~ <br /> appmximat~ly $10,000.
