Oregon Research Institute, this year's winner in the larger <br /> business cat gory, and Dynamix, last year's winner in the same category, capped a friendly <br /> competition ith a bike ride to a picnic lunch at Alton Baker Park yesterday. <br /> Burl y Design Cooperative reported that their "tandem taxi" service was a success and <br /> they receive more requests than they had "taxis." The "tandem taxis" delivered employees <br /> of participat ng businesses to and from work on the back of tandem bicycles. <br /> Spo ors of the Business Bicycle Challenge include the City of Eugene, City of <br /> ~ Springfield, Lane Regional Air Pollution Authority, Lane Council of Governments, and Lane <br /> Transit Dis ict's Commuter Solutions program. Special supporters include Prince Puckler's, <br /> G.E.A.R.S. bicycle club, Pedaler's Express, and the Center for Appropriate Transport. <br /> <br />
