D' TF RELEASE $EPL 15,16,1 ~ 995 <br /> through Sep tuber 15, 1995 <br /> EUGENE ELEBRATION ENCOURAGES ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION <br /> The :ugene Celebration hits the streets September I5, 16 and 17, but Celebration <br /> planners rvo l.d like visitors to consider ways besides using their cars to get to those party <br /> streets. To elp make alternative transportation more palatable and fun, the Celebration is <br /> oi~ering vi.si rs several. alternatives. <br /> The elebration has purchased the entire city bus service for the weekend of the <br /> event, begin ing Friday evening. Routes will run later so that visitors can stay for the Iast <br /> dance befo turning for home. For those who need their cars close by, LTD and Eugene <br /> ' Water and ectric Board will provide a free Park and Ride location on the lots across from <br /> EWEB on 4 h and .Mill. Then visitors can hop a shuttle bus that encircles the entire <br /> Celebration 'te, delivering visitors from one venue to another. The shuttle leaves every 10 <br /> minutes and tops at regular bus stops that will be signed and decorated as shuttle bus routes. <br /> Regular Par and Ride stops, such as the one on River Road, will also be used to pick up <br /> visitors brin them downtown. <br /> If vi tors ride bikes, there is Valet Bike Parking on site as well. 'The Center for <br /> Appropriate ransport will keep bicycles safe and secure on the corner of 8th Avenue and <br /> Charnelton, i the Symantec parking lot.
