The first event is <br /> a slide sho and lecture on the birds of Delta Ponds which will be offered on Thursday, <br /> January 19 beginning at 7:30 p. m. at the Willamette Oaks Retirement Center, 455 Alexander <br /> Loop off oodpasture Island Road. Dan Gleason from the Audubon Society of Lane County <br /> will make he presentation. <br /> Tw additional activities are scheduled for Saturday, January 21. The day leads off <br /> with an 8: a.m. bird watching expedition. The field trip to Delta Ponds will be led by <br /> Steve Gor on of the Audubon Society of Lane County. Participants should meet at River <br /> Park Livin Center, 425 Alexander Loop off Goodpasture Island Road. <br /> I!, At 0:00 a. m. that same morning, volunteers are invited to help fill and stack sand <br /> bags to re 'r a leak between two of the ponds. Participants should dress in layers and wear <br /> I! sturdy sh s or boots and rain gear for both events. If the weather is especially poor, this <br /> activity wi 1 be postponed until Saturday, January 28. Refreshments will be served and all <br /> events are ree and open to the public.
