Residents are <br /> asked to ch ck the sidewalks in front their property and sweep up and dispose of any sand or <br /> gravel. <br /> The Eugene Public Works Department put down about 80 truckloads of sand and <br /> gravel on e city's snow routes during the snow storm in mid-February. All of the snow <br /> routes have been swept at least once since then, but some of the sand and gravel has been <br /> thrown up n sidewalks by passing traffic. <br /> San ,gravel, and other debris on sidewalks present a hazard to pedestrians, cyclists, <br /> and other ople who use the sidewalks.
