Beginning Junc l5, the City of <br /> Eugene will l kc action to make sure that overgrown grass and weeds and other forms of obnoxious <br /> vegetation ar controlled on vacant lots. <br /> Over ro+vn vegetation can create ire and traffic hazards and is a violation of nuisance <br /> <br /> I ordinances in the City code. Property owners arc responsible for keeping grass and +viceds below 10 <br /> inches in hei ht and for removing blackbcrn~ vines or other obnoxious vegetation that extends into a <br /> <br /> i <br /> public way, i pairs motorists' visibility, or crosses a property line. <br /> On a developed properties, the City may remove obnoxious vegetation between June IS and <br /> September 3 without further notice. Vegetation that blocks the visibility of motorists must be <br /> removed imn ediately, regardless of the season. <br /> For eveloped properties, the nuisance ordinances arc in effect throughout the year and deal <br /> with vegctati n conditions such as: trees and shnibs that obstnict streets, alleys, and sidewalks; visual <br /> obstructions t street and alley intersections; and blackberries encroaching over property lines. If a <br /> violation is and on developed property, the owner is notiCicd by letter and has 10 days to correct the <br /> problem. <br /> <br /> ' If th property owner does not correct a violation, the City will hire a contractor to mow or <br /> <br /> i <br /> remove the uisance, and the costs will be billed to the property owner.
