Public Works <br /> Administration <br /> City of Eugene <br /> II OCTOBER 8, 1993 858 Pearl Street <br /> Eugene, OR 97401 <br /> (503) 687-5262 <br /> CONTACT: Tom Larsen, Project Manager, 341-5886 <br /> From Public Information Section, 687-5523 <br /> FOR IMiVI~DIATE RELEASE <br /> OLD PAVING ON WEST 11TH TO BE REMOVED STARTING SUNDAY NIGHT <br /> ~ Beginning Sunday night, October 10, and continuing through Wednesday night, <br /> October 13, the city's contractor will grind off the old paving surface on West 11th Avenue <br /> from Garfield to Tyinn in preparation for final paving. During the nighttime work, traffic <br /> <br /> ~„r will be limited to two lanes, one in each direction. <br /> i Daytime activities will continue on traffic signals, access ramps, sidewalks, <br /> driveways, and storm drains. Motorists may experience brief delays and lane closures, but <br /> four lanes of traffic two in each direction will be maintained at most times. <br /> After the surface is removed, the contractor will make repairs as necessary to the <br /> i <br /> underlying pavement structure. Final paving will start in about two weeks, weather <br /> permitting. Traffic signal work will continue into November. Temporary signals will <br /> i <br /> remain in place until the signal work is complete. <br /> The pity is widening and making other improvements to the heavily traveled section <br /> of West l l~h Avenue. During construction, West Fifth and West Seventh avenues have <br /> been designated as detour routes. <br /> # # # <br /> <br />
