Public Works
Administration
City of Eugene
OCTOBER 22, 1993 858 Pearl Street
Eugene, OR 97401
(503) 687-5262
CONTACT: Tom Larsen, Project Manager, 341-5886
From Public Information Section, 687-5523
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
***CORRECTED NEWS RELEASE***
WEST 11TH PAVING WORK TO BEGIN SUNDAY, WEATHER PERMITTING
Paving work on the West 11th widening project is scheduled to begin Sunday,
October 24, weather permitting. Rain or cold temperatures will delay the paving work.
Paving activities are expected to last all week. On Sunday afternoon, pavement
sealing and surface preparation will take place. Asphalt surface paving is scheduled to
begin Monday morning.
People using West 11th between Garfield and Tyinn should expect more congestion
during paving than they have experienced during the other phases of the work. At least one
eastbound and one westbound traffic lane will be open at all times. Turns will not be
allowed across fresh paving until the asphalt has cooled. Every effort will be made to
restripe the new surface as soon as possible after paving is completed.

III Traffic signal wiring will continue into November. The contractor will complete the
sidewalks after the new signal poles are installed.
