Motorists, pedestrians, and bicycle riders are advised to use alternate <br /> routes if possible. <br /> The bridge-widening project will be substantially completed after this week's work, <br /> which includes removing the concrete barriers on the overpass, grinding off the existing <br /> surface, paving the travel lanes, and restriping the new pavement. <br /> ~ Work on the $400,000 project began in April. The widened overpass includes a <br /> traffic lane in each direction plus bike lanes and full-width sidewalks on both sides of the <br /> I <br /> bridge. Participating in the funding for the project are the cities of Eugene and Springfield, <br /> i <br /> Lane County, the state of Oregon, and the Oregon Department of Transportation. <br /> <br />
