To arrange a visit to the center, located in the M.Jacobs Plaza
at 61 West Eighth Avenue, call 687-5218.
The City of Eugene opened the center in October to provide information to the public
about various options for the Ferry Street Bridge. Models, maps, and other information are
available to help people understand four alternatives that have been studied to address
current problems and future traffic growth in the Ferry Street Bridge corridor. The
alternatives range from a no-build scenario to proposals which include a new six-lane or
eight-lane bridge, plus potential new routes across the Willamette River.
In November, the Eugene City Council held a public hearing on the alternatives. The
council reviewed the public comments in early December and asked staff to provide
additional information for a continued discussion in January. Any final decisions are likely
to be referred to local voters.
