News Release Bicycle Commute Week June 16, 1993 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Willamet a Christian Center, 18th and Hawkins. Participants must wear a <br /> helmet. <br /> Monday through Friday, June 21-25, bicycle commuters can enjoy a morning <br /> snack at he "Pork and Ride" stop at 12th and High. Free snacks provided by <br /> local foo stores will be served from 7 to 9 a.m. City Bicycle Coordinator <br /> i <br /> Diane Bis op said, "We are holding the pork and ride stops as an incentive to <br /> encourage commuters to ride their bikes to work more often." <br /> A ne, event this year will be "valet" bicycle parking at the Saturday <br /> Market. $etween 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on June 19, members of the Eugene Bicycle <br /> Committee ,will store bikes and stamp driver's license numbers on them if <br /> requested: <br /> <br /> r On Sajturday, June 19, free swims are offered to anyone who bicycles to a <br /> community 'pool and shows his or her helmet to the attendant. Hours of the <br /> free swims ale noon to 5 p.m. at Amazon Pool and 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Echo <br /> Hollow and'~Sheldon. <br /> Sever~l fun rides are planned. Comfortable-paced rides hosted by <br /> G.E.A.R.S.'~~Bicycle Touring Club leave Alton Baker Park at 9 a.m. on Saturday, <br /> June 19, aid Saturday, June 26. A June 20 Father's Day ride sponsored by the <br /> Obsidians eaves at 7:30 a.m. from 19th and Patterson and includes breakfast <br /> at Obsidia Lgdge.
