~I~~~/ t~~~~/~~I ~/L~J~
Public Works
Administration
City of Eugene
DECEMBER 20, 1993 858 Pearl Street
Eugene, OR 97401
(503) 687-5262
CONTACT: Adrian Stansfield, Tree Crew Supervisor, 687-5348
From Public Information Section, 687-5523
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LARGE MAPLE AT 11TH AND HIGH TO BE REMOVED WEDNESDAY
A large maple tree near the southeast corner of East 11th Avenue and High Street will
be removed Wednesday, December 22. The removal work will begin at 8:30 a.m. and is
expected to be completed by noon. While the tree is being removed, the south lane on East 11th
Avenue and the east lane on High Street will be closed.
A city tree crew is removing the maple because it is in extremely poor health, with dead
major limbs and deep rotten areas. A replacement tree will be replanted the same day.
The city responds to calls from local residents to inspect the health of trees in the right-
of-way and prune or remove trees that could pose a hazard to motorists, pedestrians, and other

users of the right-of-way.
