The mounds, which extend from curb to curb and are 3 inches high at the <br /> center and tapered at the edges, are much less jarring to vehicles than the typical speed bumps <br /> installed i parking lots. The speed humps will be marked with paint, and warning signs will <br /> be posted o alert motorists. <br /> Du ing construction, traffic will be detoured around the area, and onstreet parking will <br /> be tempor rily removed in the locations where the speed humps are being installed. <br /> Th speed humps were recommended in a Lincoln Street traffic plan developed by the <br /> I <br /> <br /> i <br /> Eugene Pu lic Works Department and local neighborhood groups. The goal of the plan is to <br /> slow do vehicles and reduce the volume of non-local traffic on Lincoln Street. This is the <br /> first test o speed humps in Eugene.
